I have lived in Madison, WI for most of my life. Outside of WHA I am a senior software engineer. During my free time, I enjoy running and spending time with my family on the weekends. I got involved with WHA because I feel it is important to continue to teach younger generations about our rich Hmong culture, traditions, history and language so that we continue to have an identity. -

I live in Madison, WI. A true Madisonian. I am a UW Madison Wisconsin graduate in the field of Social Welfare. I have always had the passion to serve my community and it has been a pleasure to serve and be apart of my Hmong Community. I enjoy all the events that Madison offers yearly. The early Saturday morning farmers market to walking through our beautiful arboretum and fishing on our lakes. I hope we as a community we will continue to help preserve the beautiful culture and language that my Hmong community has so that the future generations have something wonderful to look forward to. -

I have lived in Madison for a decade and work in Cyber Security. During my free time, I enjoy fishing and bonding with my family. I have observed that the Hmong community experiences identity, poverty, and education difficulties, and I aspire to contribute to their betterment. Thus, I joined WHA to assist and empower the Hmong community and provide aid to those in need. My goal is to ensure a brighter future for the forthcoming generation. -

My name is G Thao and I am a Technology Project Manager at American Family Insurance. I help support the operational excellence and strategy for Agency Information Technology. As a Madison native and first-generation Hmong American, I witnessed the hardships caused by the lack of resources and education in the Hmong community. I am grateful and honored to give back to the community by serving as the New Year Chairman where I aim to modernize the Hmong New Year celebration and challenge the status quo of our community. I am married and have three children. I joined the organization in 2022.
